Reem Bader
Rawi Screenwriters’ Lab Manager, The Royal Film Commission – Jordan
Reem Bader is a visual artist and film professional, born and raised in Ramallah, Palestine. She worked as illustrator, arts mentor and children’s rights activist from 1991-2000 in Palestine. In 2000, she moved to Britain for further education in the arts and she finished her BA in 2003 and her MFA in 2005. After graduation, Bader moved to Jordan and has been working at the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) ever since.
Bader has managed the Rawi Screenwriters’ Lab since 2007 and the Rawi Alumni Support Program, a program that aids Rawi alumni after the Lab with script development, financing, production, post-production, distribution and exhibition. In addition, Bader facilitates diverse partnerships between the RFC and regional and international professional film organizations, as well as developing fundraising proposals to support Rawi programs and its alumni.
Most recently Ms. Bader is managing, in addition a new program the Med Film Factory in partnership with regional and European partners and co-financed by the European Commission. Similar to Rawi, Med Film Factory is an annual interrelated program that aims at Arab film directors and producers to help them refurbish their directing and producing their skills as well as to materialize their projects.
Amid regional and international connection Ms. Bader has been to many film venues and festivals representing the RFC and Rawi Screenwriters’ Lab. Among these venues her participation as a speaker in the Dubai International Film Festival 2009-2010 and a jury member for the Shasha Scriptwriting Competition 2010 of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.
Bader's artwork has been exhibited in several solo and group shows in different countries including Palestine, Jordan, USA, UK, Canada, France, Britain, Japan, Malta, Denmark, India and others.
